I really want to make a Bladeling Fighter who is fed up with all the philosophy every berk seems to be spouting and just wants to make some jink. He might end up becoming an accidental Bleaker just because of how little he cares. Throw a greatsword on him and he’s good to go.
…I kind of want to name him Cutter, because it isn’t a name. It’s just all anyone knows to call him by.

the grid is 24x24
x-axis (left and right) is Lawful/Chaotic, with Lawful being positive values and Chaotic being positive values
y-axis (up and down) is Good/Evil, with Good being positive values and Evil being negative values
a character is Neutral when they are 4 or less on an axis

X-axis: Good at the top, Evil at the bottom.
Y-axs: Lawful on the left, Chaotic on the right.
PCs start in the center, though character creation choices may further impact that. Currently going with a 24x124 grid.
Races:
Humans, Elves, Dwarves, Halflings, Half-Elves, Half-Orcs, and Gnomes have no special impact on Alignment.

What if Alignment was on a small grid (x axis is Law/Chaos, y axis is Good/Evil) and at character creation you started in the middle and got like two points to pop in it to decide starting alignments (plus any for races, like morons being Lawful) and then as the game goes on your actions shift you accordingly? That would be really rad for Planescape or something. Factions could have requirements...
