That reminds me of a character concept I had, oddly enough.
Takkoyaki is an uplifted octopus and a minor celebrity, one of many created by microcorps looking to cash in on the success of Release The Kraken. He was designed to appeal to young males, with a hot-blooded personality and a bad attitude. He cares about three things in this world; violence, motorcycles, and women. His octomorph has extensive Yakuza nantotats, he likes to get drunk and swing his katana around, and he frequently street-races.
He desperately wants the people around him (his friends, his Firewall cell, anyone) to think he’s cool, but his show was a flop and he mostly comes off as a cheesy parody of a largely-irrelevant bosukuzu stereotype. Still, he’s good in a fight, has a bit of a silver tongue, and just enough cash to be a bit of an asset. Some also suspect he has legitimate criminal ties underneath all the blustering.
(He tries to sleeve into an octomorph or a takko whenever possible, and takes meticulous care of his most prized possession; a replica of the motorcycle from Akira.)
